Our Art & Design Departments
Our Art & Design Departments blend traditional stained glass techniques with thoughtful design processes and modern production tools. From early concept sketches to detailed cartoons and finished glass, the team works collaboratively across departments to ensure every window meets Willet’s standards for beauty, craftsmanship, and accuracy.
Artists in these departments are highly process-oriented and detail-driven, with a strong foundation in drawing, color, composition, and visual storytelling. Collaboration is key—designers and painters regularly engage in creative problem-solving, constructive critique, and cross-department coordination to bring each project to life.
Both departments require employees who possess:
- Strong drawing skills, with an emphasis on the human figure
- Understanding of anatomy, color, value, composition, and perspective
- Exceptional attention to detail—quality and accuracy are critical
